Seminar: Exploring the relationship with whistleblowing

The panellists are:
Anna Myers is the executive director of the Whistleblowing International Network (WIN), which supports 38 member organisations in 24 countries. A lawyer by training with 25 years’ experience in whistleblowing, she was previously deputy director of Public Concern at Work (now Protect) and worked at GRECO in Strasbourg. Anna advised the Council of Europe on whistleblower protection and led WIN’s efforts to adopt the EU Whistleblower Protection Directive. WIN also runs the EU Whistleblowing Monitor. Anna is a member of the Steering Committee of the Coalition Against SLAPPs in Europe (CASE).
Simona Levi, founder of Xnet – Institute for Democratic Digitalisation. Simona Levi is a theatre director, technopolitical strategist and recognised activist. She co-directs a course on technopolitics and digital rights and leads initiatives such as Xnet and 15MPARATO, which expose major cases of corruption. As an author and consultant, she works on digital rights, disinformation and democratic renewal and advocates for free culture and strategic activism.
Dr Vigjilenca Abazi, is a recognised legal scholar who specialises in whistleblowing, co-founder and executive director of European Whistleblowing Institute. She co-drafted the European model law on whistleblower protection for the European Parliament and was a rapporteur for the Council of Europe. She has given lectures and training courses for organisations such as NATO and the Academy of European Law. Vigjilenca was appointed Honorary Senior Fellow of the Government Accountability Project and honoured with the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences Early Career Award for her innovative contributions.
Vladimir Radomirović is the editor-in-chief and co-founder of Pištaljka (The Whistle), a whistleblowing platform in Serbia. As a journalist and whistleblower, he has been running Pištaljka for 14 years and coordinates a team of journalists and lawyers who support whistleblowers. The platform was instrumental in the Serbian Law on Whistleblower Protection (2014) and the UN Resolution on Whistleblower Protection (2023). Vladimir is a board member of the Whistleblowing International Network (WIN), co-chair of the Working Group for the Protection of Whistleblowers of the UNCAC Coalition and a founding member of the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF).
Moderated by Peter Matjašič, executive director of Investigate Europe, a cross-border journalistic cooperative, where he helps develop long-term strategies to reach broader audiences, alongside managing operations and finances. Peter spent more than eight years at the Open Society Initiative for Europe, focusing on grant-making to achieve social change, particularly supporting whistleblower rights in Europe. He also helps coordinate the “My Voice, My Choice” campaign, the European citizens’ initiative on abortion rights and is currently part of the Obama Leaders Europe programme. Earlier in his career, Peter was involved in youth work, starting with the Young European Federalists and culminating as president of the European Youth Forum fighting for the rights of young people.
